Virginia State Safety Inspector

Perform Virginia state safety inspections to the letter of the law while also contributing to general repair and maintenance work in the shop.

What you will do

  • Perform Virginia state safety inspections accurately and in full compliance with State Police standards
  • Complete and file inspection paperwork correctly every time
  • Explain rejections and required corrections clearly and respectfully
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work between inspections
  • Maintain inspection station standards, records and equipment
  • Protect the shop's inspection station status through consistent, by-the-book work

What we are looking for

  • Current and valid Virginia State Inspector license, or eligibility to obtain one
  • Working knowledge of the Virginia Safety Inspection Manual
  • Automotive repair experience in addition to inspection duties
  • Careful, detail-focused approach to documentation
  • Valid driver license and a clean driving record
  • Honest, dependable and comfortable talking with customers
